HA NOI capital city of Viet Nam
is one of the top five destinations for 2006 according
to a poll of 1,300 readers on travel site Tripso.com.
 One
reader mentioned great beaches, low-cost shopping
and a lot of unique villages and towns as her
reasons for voting for Viet Nam. And now, thanks
to a direct air route from the US to Viet Nam,
it is convenient for American vacationers to travel
to Vietnam.
'I’ve been there many
times in the past 12 months, and I enjoy it better
with every trip," said the reader. However,
she added, "The food is good, but not gourmet,
in most places".
"The Vietnamese people are
some of the most friendly on Earth (ranking right
up there with Thais, Australians and Filipinos),"
said another anonymous Tripso.com reader.
Readers’ top five destinations
in order are Las Vegas, Central America, Southern
Caribbean, New York City and Viet Nam.
But this is not the first time
Viet Nam has featured on such a listing. Last
November, the Viaggiatori International Tourism
Fair in Lugano, Switzerland, voted Viet Nam the
"most outstanding new destination of the
Far East region".
