Vietnam - Since mid-January 2006, Saigon-Phu Quoc
resort has welcome the Coco - Explore Cruise Ship
with more than 150 international tourists every
Tuesday. The ship sets out from Thailand through
Cambodia to Phu
Quoc Island.
One
of the biggest resort here called Saigon - Phu
Quoc Resort on Phu Quoc Island has signed permanent
contracts with the ship owner to serve tourists
who can join fishing, diving and city tours.
Tourists will also call at historical sites on the
island such as the prison, pagodas, a dog farm,
Ham Ninh fishing village and a pearl raising area.
Those
who travel on the Coco – Explore book the tour
from one to two months in advance at Danish C
& C Travel Company that owns the ship.
The
resort Saigon – Phu Quoc plans to welcome tourists
directly from other countries to the island who
transit at international airports in Ha noi, Saigon,
Hue and Da nang before landing on the island,
said Mr Phung Xuan Mai, general director of the
resort.
Phu
Quoc island is about the same size as Singapore
country, 600 square kilometres and is the largest
of all Vietnamese islands. It is the only place
in Vietnam you can enjoy the sun setting over
the ocean.
There
are 99 mountains and hills covered in green primitive
forests with majestic waterfalls and bubbling
streams. The fresh sea breezes and stunning sandy
beaches touching crystal clear blue waters make
this a true paradise for travelers.
This
beautiful island lies 65 miles off the south-west
coast of Viet nam and is genuinely unspoiled by
time and tourism. Travellers say that "Viet nam
is like Thailand 20 years ago". If that's true,
then Phu Quoc is like Vietnam used to be ten years
ago.
Renowned as a tropical leisure paradise and sun lover's
retreat, Phu Quoc is studded with over 26 picturesque
islands, and its 150 km coastline abounds with
beautiful white sandy beaches with year-round
sunshine, at a comfortable temperature of 27 degrees
Celsius
