Mekong Tourism Festival
to kick off in southern province
 The
2006 Mekong Festival will feature trade and tourism
exhibitions including a trade-tourism fair, rural cuisine
festival, tourist guide contest, a seminar on developing
tourism
in Mekong River region and sport competitions
in Long Xuyen city.
The art performances of four ethnic
groups including Kinh, Hoa, Khmer, Cham and Tan Chau
silk performance will take place in Chau Doc town at
an estimated cost of VND6 billion.
The festival is expected to take place
in 13 Mekong Delta provinces on a rotating basis every
two years.
